Five College Center for World Languages Endowment Fund
This endowment fund, created to meet a challenge grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, will provide income to permanently fund about a third of the center's operations.
The Five College Consortium supports the teaching and learning of 54 less commonly studied languages and dialects. This work has long been supported by the five campuses of the Consortium and by grants supporting the developing of new or revised curricular materials and resources of new and continuing language offerings. With the decline of external grant support, the Five College Consortium has resolved to raise an endowment of $3 million to provide a steady income stream to ensure that necessary resources are available for the Center's programs. Together with the ongoing support from the campuses for the work of the Center, the endowment will secure the financial future for offering a rich and diverse set of language learning opportunities and resources.
Five Colleges has received a generous commitment of $1 million to match contributions of up to $2 million in new gifts for the endowment from other sources. We must raise $2 to receive $1 in matching funds. Thus your $100 contribution provides $150 to the endowment. To make an online contribution, click here.
