Five College Center for World Languages Endowment Fund

This endowment fund, created to meet a challenge grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, will provide income to permanently fund about a third of the center's operations.

Over its 30-year history, the Five College Center for World Languages has offered more than 60 less-commonly studied languages and dialects. This work has long been supported by the five campuses of the Consortium and by grants supporting the developing of new or revised curricular materials and resources of new and continuing language offerings. Thanks to generous support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the campuses, the Five College Consortium has raised an endowment of $3 million to provide a steady income stream to ensure that necessary resources are available for the Center's programs now and into the future. Together with ongoing support from the campuses, the endowment secures the financial future for offering a rich and diverse set of language learning opportunities and resources.
