This weekly seminar will be focused on increasing students' knowledge base about current psychological topics related to diversity in research and applied settings and fostering students' professional development (e.g., providing education about different career paths and graduate school) to prepare students for future careers in psychology with a strong foundation in diversity-related topics.
Pre Req: PSYCH 100 PSYCH 491AD is open only to students who are accepted into the Advancing Diversity in Research and Practice (ADRAP) program. ADRAP is designed to provide education and practical experiences to undergraduate students to help prepare them for future careers in psychology and for working in an increasingly diverse society. This program involves a two-semester commitment and includes the PSYCH 491 seminar (2-3 credits per semester) and practical experiences in the form of research assistantships or internships (PSYCH 398F, PSYCH 398B).
