The focus of this course is "Stress and Disease". Students will learn about the neural circuits and biochemical mechanisms underlying the body's response to stress and how stress affects disease vulnerability. The bulk of the reading material for this course will consist of peer-reviewed research and review articles, with the primary focus on pre-clinical studies in animals. Students are expected to actively participate during class discussion, give presentations, and develop a research project proposal.
This course is open to PSYCH majors only. Pre Req: PSYCH 330 or 335 This seminar is intended for and geared to Neuroscience track students. Class may open to non-majors if space permits.
