Rebecca Nordstrom and Billbob Brown on tour in Arizona

Billbob Brown (Assoc Prof/UM)and Rebecca Nordstrom (Prof/Hampshire College) participated in the 2009 Arizona Dance Festival Oct 8-10 at the Tempe Center for the Arts. The festival was an exciting event, featuring works from 15 dance companies from around the region as well as performers from the east and west coasts.

Brown and Nordstrom performed their multimedia duet "T.O.E. Dance", in which "the intrepid quantum mechanics Clock and Quark seek to solve the deepest mysteries of the Universe." Brown performed his new solo "Top of the Ninth", a video/dance piece which subverts and distorts the meaning behind various sports announcements, juxtaposing sports imagery with Beethoven’s famous work.

Brown and Nordstrom will perform as part of the first inaugural Massachusetts Dance Festival at Boston University, on November 6 and 7.
