Day-to-day
operations of Five Colleges are carried out by the following staff, who

Lorna
M. Peterson, executive director, is responsible for the oversight
of all consortial activity. She meets regularly with, and is a member
of, the Five College Board of Directors.
She also meets with the chief academic officers
(Five College Deans), Principal Business Officers
(PBOs), Librarians Council,
and other academic and administrative groups.
Donna
Baron, director for information technology, works closely
with professional staff from the campuses to oversee collaborative technology
projects for the consortium. Current Five College initiatives include
the dark
fiber project; training for faculty, staff, and students in the use
of interactive
video classrooms; the online
course catalog; and the Five
College Museums and Historic Deerfield Collections Database. Ms. Baron
meets regularly with the Information Technology
Governing Board, the Networking Committee, the Interactive Video Trainers,
and other groups, as needed.
Nancy Goff, director for program planning and development, is responsible
for all grant activities within the consortium, including preparation
of proposals, stewardship and reporting of grants. She oversees the implementation
of projects funded by external sources, and meets with a number of academic
groups and administrative groups, among them the Music
Chairs, Five
College America Reads Tutors Program, and the Council
on Religious Life.
Marie
Hess, treasurer and business manager, is responsible for
all financial aspects of consortial activity, including preparation of
the Five College budget, meeting with the investment and audit committees,
monitoring grant activity, and preparing required financial reports. She
also maintains the consortium’s personnel office and meets with
several administrative groups, including those in recycling and risk management.
Kevin Kennedy, director of communications, is Five College Inc.'s public relations officer and responds to general inquiries about the consortium and its programs. Working with the Five College graphic designer, he is responsible for all published materials for the consortium and for the Five College Web site. His administrative responsibilities include collaboration in recruiting students and in student affairs and work with Five College committees in areas such as art, admissions and museum collaboration. He also serves in an advisory capacity to the Five College Student Coordinating Board.
Nate
Therien, director for academic programs, staffs a number
of academic councils and committees, including the certificate programs
in African studies and Asian/Pacific/American studies, and the East Asian
languages program. He also oversees two key funds supporting collaborative
activity, the Faculty
Seminar Fund and the Lecture Fund,
and facilitates new projects. Through meetings with the registrars, he
monitors the interchange and assists in coordinating the Five
College Academic Calendar.

Sue Thrasher is the Five
College/Public School Partnership coordinator.
Carol
Aleman is executive assistant to the Five College executive
director.
Sharon Cady-Harrison is administrative secretary for Carol Angus and Nate Therien, and handles the scheduling and catering arrangements for all meetings at the Five College center. Robyn
Cutler is the graphic designer for all Five
College publications and collateral. She also coordinates the Five
College Calendar of Events and maintains the Five College Web site.
Sue Dickman, Staff Assistant
Nancy
Eckert is the receptionist and as administrative assistant
works with the business office and with the Five
College Fellowship Program.
Yvette Morneau is assistant
to the treasurer and business manager.
Jean
Morrier is the grants assistant at Five Colleges,
providing support for Nancy Goff, director for program planning and development,
and Marie Hess, treasurer and business manager. She is also the staff
representative for MHEC vendors.
Gail
Porter is the bookkeeper and administrative assistant in
the business office.
